There are consequences for not believing in the power of God. Jesus could do no mighty works in His home town because of their unbelief. It says that He marveled at their unbelief … He did heal a few sick, but what was possible their unbelief would not permit.

Unbelief is not the opposite, Fear is the opposite of Faith Faith involves trust, hope and belief in God’s promises, love and purpose, leading to confidence and definite actions. We ask God to intervene in our lives to do what we cannot not do, we must believe that what we ask of Him He has the power to perform. Proverbs 3:5 says, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. We must not second guess God or try to figure out His purpose, Just Trust Him.
