We may think our neighbor is the people that live next door to us or across the street from us, Christ extends that relationship to a wider circumference.

Our neighbor is whoever is in need, whoever we can help, whoever we can serve. This service reaches far beyond our immediate area. It reaches a person standing by the freeway asking for money, it reaches people that are hungry and in pain.

The God Ordered Peace

How do we acquire tranquility when everything around us has turned upside down. I pray for nights to be restful and days to be peaceful and our efforts to be filled with fruitfulness. Grace

Grace is an unmerited favor from God. It is not giving us what we justly deserve. We are living under Grace in this age because the price has been paid for our sins. God has spared us because of the sacrifice that Jesus gave for us. We were living with the stain of sin on us, but Jesus shedded His blood and made the eternal sacrifice for our sins and caused us to live under Grace.

Thoughts on the Disaster in Texas

It is a tragedy that fell on that Texas community. People were made unalive and some have not been found. There is no way we can ever prepare ourselves for a tragedy like this. We will continue to pray for the families and those that are lost, we pray that they may be found safe.

Independence Day

We are celebrating Independence Day today.  This day marks a day of freedom from control.  It is wonderful that we gained our freedom from Great Britain on this day in 1776.  We should strive to stay free from tyranny, being ruled by a government that does not have our best interest as a priority.  We celebrate this day as a day of freedom … but are we truly free? 

Clutter, Confusion and Worry

Our minds can be filled with so many things that it makes it difficult to put things into its proper perspective. Clutter and Confusion has a close association with Worry. There are different types of Blindness. The one we are most familiar with is physical blindness. A more severe blindness is spiritual blindness. This blindness is caused by the enemy. It keeps us from experiencing truth. The truth can only be realized when we have been exposed to the Lord Jesus Christ.

He was before the beginning

Jesus is the second person of the God-Head. The Son of God. He is the agent through whom all things were made. In the Gospel of John, it is said that He is the Word. The spoken Word created all things. The worlds were framed by the Word of God, the things that are seen are not made of things which do appear. It is the power of God that brings all things into existence.

Too Blessed to be Stressed

Stress is how we react to outside pressures that will come upon us at any given time. Stress can harm us greatly. There are certain things that we can do to handle stressful situations.  When we feel stressed we should pull back from that situation, take a breath and pray. The Lord does not want us to be overwhelmed with problems. 1 Peter 5:7 says, Cast all your cares on Him, for He cares for you. We should put God first and everything else next.

The Loss of a Loved One

We will experience loss in this life. This life wasn’t given to us to keep. We have been given a gift and we must cherish this gift and to hold it sacred and dear, not for ourselves, but for others.

We try to be the best we can be so the life we live will not be in vain. We must cherish every moment that we have been blessed with. We must love ourselves so that this love can be passed onto others. We don’t love ourselves selfishly, we love ourselves to the point of be
