We have a tendency not to trust anyone we are not sure about.  Trust abides in the heart.  It moves us in the direction that we know will be beneficial and safe.  When I was very young, not even school age, my great Aunt would send me across the street to borrow sugar, flour etc…we did that in those days.  There was a ditch in front of our house and across the ditch was a board.  To go across the street would mean to walk across the board.  When Ii got to the board my Aunt would say “can you put your weight on it” … that would mean, can I trust the board.  I would test it to see if it would hold me and then proceed.

We can put our weight on Jesus, He has been tried and tested.  Proverbs 3:5 says, Trust in the Lord with all thy heart…when we put our trust in Jesus, we cannot rely on our own way, but His way.
