When we decide to follow Jesus, we are not accepting a life of comfort and ease, free from hard work or major worries. To follow Jesus means to deny yourself, and take up your cross, and be a disciple of Jesus. Jesus’ disciples were mocked, talked about, slandered for their beliefs. And they were told to love their enemies, do good to them that persecute you.and pray for them that spitefully use you. Following Jesus is difficult. It means to let go of this life and prepare for eternal life.

Jesus had been challenged by the devil. He had fasted for forty days and nights. He delivered Himself over to be tempted by the devil. Following His temptation, Jesus began to preach and say, the kingdom of heaven is at hand. He walked by the sea of Galilee and saw Peter and Andrew, they were fishermen, Jesus said to them "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Jesus has given us this call today. He has given us a command to “Go therefore and make disciples,, Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit … and He gave us a promise … “and lo, I am with you alway, even to the end of the age.” we must keep our life and our choices in perspective … Follow Jesus.
